IAEA completes investigation of Iran’s nuclear program Free

16 December 2015
World Nuclear News: There is no evidence that Iran has developed any nuclear weapons since 2009, according to an assessment by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general Yukiya Amano. He presented his findings to the IAEA's governing council last month. The IAEA has been investigating Iran’s nuclear program for the past 12 years. According to an agreement reached in July, the United Nations, the European Union, and the US would lift sanctions against Iran if it could be shown that Iran had curbed its nuclear program. The finding was welcomed by Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif, who said it showed the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
