Science: Italy’s National Research Council has announced that the site of the Expo 2015 world’s fair, which took place 1 May to 31 October near Milan, is to be turned into a science and technology research campus. Called the Human Technopole, the project is envisioned to become an international innovation hub dedicated to the study of genomics and aging. The Italian Institute of Technology in Genova, which helped develop the idea, is contributing €100 million, and the Italian government plans to give €150 million annually for 10 years.
