BBC:
Piers Sellers, a NASA astronaut with three space shuttle
flights under his belt, has been appointed an OBE (an Officer
of the Order of the British Empire). Sellers was among the
Britons whose services were recognized in the UK's traditional
New
Year's Honors. Born in the UK, Sellers joined NASA's
astronaut corps in 1996 after a career spent analyzing Earth's
vegetation from data gathered by satellites. He plans to resume
his scientific career when he returns to NASA's Goddard Space
Flight Center.
