Los
Angeles Times: Having invented a better battery, MIT's
Yet-Ming Chiang tried to manufacture the batteries first in the
US, then in China. Neither of those early attempts proved

protecting his intellectual property. Now, with the help of a
US government grant, Chiang is set to open his first
factoryâmdash;in a former videotape plant in
Detroit.
