The
Daily Telegraph: The Sun follows an 11-year cycle in which
its radiation output and sunspot activity waxes and wanes.
Currently the Sun is at its minimum radiation output.A new
report in the UK suggests that as the Sun's output rises to a
new maximum, satellite navigation devices will be susceptible
from the expected increase in solar flares. The bursts of
radiation caused by the flares interfere with signals from
satellites orbiting Earth, causing receivers to fail and lose
track of their position.
