The
Daily Telegraph: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
near San Francisco made 440 staff redundant last month, many of
them involved in nuclear weapons work or efforts to stop other
countries acquiring them.In total, the lab has lost some 1,800
of its 8,000 workforce in the past two and a half years. The
exodus has worried some politicians, not only about the
consequences for the United States of such a "brain drain" but
also as to where those workers may head now to find jobs.
