A career booklet describing the work of the physicist in industry has been published by the AIP Department of Education and Manpower. Written by Donald H. Loughridge, the 24‐page publication sketches a short history of industrial physics since World War II and its prominence today, the diverse research areas in the field, and the education and orientation requisite for an industrial career. Brief descriptions of some representative physicists in industry, of the industrial environment and pace, and the considerable incentives in the field are also included. The Physicist in Industry is being sent to all physics departments in colleges and universities. Single copies are available without cost and multiple copies at nominal cost from the AIP Public Relations Department.
