A research Institute for Theoretical Physics is being established in Helsinki and is expected to start its activities in the fall of this year. The organization of the Institute was proposed in January 1963 by a committee of the council of the University of Helsinki in recognition of the recent growth of interest in theoretical physics among Finnish physicists.
