The 1962 E. C. Bingham Medal, awarded annually by the Society of Rheology, was presented to Wladimir Philippoff at a banquet held on October 30 during the 33rd annual meeting of the Society in Baltimore. Established in memory of the late Eugene Cook Bingham, one of the founders of the organization, the Medal was presented to Dr. Philippoff “in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the phenomenological rheology of viscoelastic materials”.
