September 5 is the deadline for applications for National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships. Approximately 65 awards will be made in the mathematical, physical, engineering, and other sciences, as well as in the history and philosophy of science and in several interdisciplinary fields. Applicants must be US citizens or nationals and possess a doctoral degree or equivalent education and experience. Their qualifications will be evaluated by panels of scientists chosen by the National Academy of Sciences—National Research Council. Fellows may engage in study or research at any appropriate non‐profit US or foreign institution. Application materials can be obtained by writing to the Fellowship Office, National Academy of Sciences—National Research Council, 2101 Constitution Ave., N. W., Washington, D.C. All applicants will be notified by letter on October 16 as to the disposition of their applications.
