On the other hand, it is not too difficult for an individual to gain entrance to Soviet scientific laboratories and this procedure has certain advantages. For one thing, the tour can be planned so that laboratories in more than one specialized field can be included in the visit. Also, individual tours generally do not involve arranging for reciprocal visits, a procedure usually required when group tours are set up.
