The new trend of laser material processing

This paper will first discuss the state-of-the-art of CO₂ laser and YAG laser which are the most widely used industrial lasers today. Further, state-of-the-art of the new industrial laser candidates, such as CO laser and COIL laser, and their prospects for commercialization will be reviewed. Future applications of laser technology are discussed with emphasis on the application to disposal of waste matters.
