A special method, OBIC (Optical Beam Induced Currents), is described for visualizing the electronic properties of layout and materials in operating devices by generating photo-currents with a Laser Scan Microscope. This optical analogue to the electron-beam-induced-currents method is simpler to handle than the latter one.
