A new fiber optic data link has been developed to MIL-STD-810C, for use in military tactical communications systems. This paper will discuss fiber link system specifications and optical transmitter and receiver performance over a wide range of conditions, including: data rate 20-700 kbps, link length 0 to 3.3 km and operating temperature −40°C to +85°C.
