Laser Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing Technology (LRP) can produce parts with complex structure directly according to 3D CAD graphics, which simplifies the process of products, saves the cost of products significantly and improves the efficiency of manufacture. In order to promote the application and development Laser Rapid Prototyping Technology better, the paper gives a brief analysis of the defects of the traditional production methods in building model and sculpture model, brings laser rapid prototyping technology into the design and produce of architectural models and sculpture model, introduces the basic working principles, the conspicuous advantages and the typical process methods of Laser Rapid Prototyping Technology, discusses the application of Laser Rapid Prototyping Technology in building model and sculpture model, and describes the possibility of such technology in building model and sculpture model through concrete examples.
