Smaller spot size of laser beam caused problems such as weld seam aligning, work piece clamping and joint preparation in laser beam welding. Furthermore higher output power of laser beam source in which total welding cost is proportional with its output power is needed for laser welding of Al or its alloy. Arc enhanced laser beam welding is newly developed welding process. In laser-arc hybrid welding, the productivity was increased by arc heat and properties of weld metal were improved by filler wire. Electrical steel sheets for transformer and motor contained high Si contents because it improves electro- magnetic properties. But the higher Si contents deteriorate weldability of Si steel. To enhance weld quality, hot rolled electrical steel sheet was welded using laser-arc hybrid welding process. Weld metal of hybrid welding have better mechanical properties than laser welding alone.
