Eye safety standards impacting infrared LED based communication Available to Purchase

The Infrared Data Association (lrDA) has developed an infrared communication industry standard. Several formal standards organizations have developed eye safety standards. While many of these are reasonable and realistic, IEC 825-1 has included LEDs with lasers in a manner that greatly overstates potential hazard. It is proposed that this situation be corrected.
