Utilizing today’s advanced robotic capabilities is helping to move company personnel away from high power Class IV laser-cutting nozzles to the safe environment of a robotic control station. The design of the five-axis laser system started not on the drafting board, but by research into the Federal Register on Laser Products and the ANSI standards. Each component incorporated into the beam delivery system or protective housings was designed around safety regulations. It was the idea that a safer, more serviceable product could be manufactured if the safety was engineered into the equipment rather than building the components and then attempting to add safety features.
