The filtration and the handling of sub-micron, allergy-causing, and toxic dusts released during the laser cutting process will be demonstrated by using documented test measurements on the one hand and, on the other hand, using system concepts which have been developed especially for the field of laser cutting.

The filtration system which is introduced here differs considerably from conventional filtration systems in the following respects:

  1. the collection efficiency of even sub-micron dusts which are released in laser cutting processes as well as

  2. the entire design concept of the system construction itself.

Furthermore, the continuing development of the filter system for laser technology in the field of plastic cutting is indicated.

In some respects, having reached our limits as a filter manufacturer, this conference is essential because of the necessary exchange of experience of laser-producers, filter manufacturers, scientists, and doctors alike.
