The number of uses for lasers has been steadily increasing since their first appearance in the early 1960’s. Since that time, there have been a number of injuries and some deaths caused by the use of lasers or their complex technology. Deaths and injuries have been reported in the literature, but until recently there has not been a comprehensive compilation of injury reports available from multiple disparate databases. Injury and death reports from the FDA, FAA, Army, Navy, Air Force and private industry are included in this paper.
