Quality cutting and drilling of 9 composite materials is possible using diode-pumped neodymium lasers. Machining at 1.06 μm is improved by optimizing the pulse format of the diode-pumped neodymium lasers of the Precision Laser Machining (PLM) Consortium. Further improvements are obtained with the PLM lasers operating at 0.53 μm.
