Due to the latest increases of performance, solid-state lasers gain more and more in significance in the three-dimensional material treatment. As it is know, one advantage of a solid-state laser is, compared with the CO2-lasers, that it can be coupled into a flexible fibre due to its shorter wave length. Consequently, the laser unit is not dependent upon a complex mirror system like a CO2-laser.
