Most industrial lasers require cooling water for optimum performance. A plant water supply will be adequate for some of these requirements. Many times, other factors rule out the use of plant water. Some of these are:
Not available at location
No suitable drain
Not allowed to dump due to environmental restriction
Quality of water poor
Temperature fluctuation too high or too low Too high does not provide cooling and too low causes condensation.
Mineral and sol ids
Sulfur content
Not adequate pressure
