The determination of Minimum Resolvable Temperature (MRT) for a Forward Looking Infrared Receiver (FLIR) is a lengthy and labor intensive process. A technique is demonstrated using Fast Fourier Transforms in an automated procedure to measure system MRT, with subsequent savings in time and labor. An extension of the technique is suitable for FLIR production line acceptance testing or automated field confidence testing.
