Infrared fluorescence from 14N14NO and 15N14NO provides a sensitive probe of vibrational energy availability in laser-excited SF6. Mode specific sensitization of collision partners is extremely sensitive to the resulting shifts in vibrational frequency. Comparison of theory and kinetic models distinguishes between proposed pathways and identifies accessible energy levels.
