CO₂ laser dryer for offset rotary press

Possibility of a high power CO₂ laser application to the ink dryer for the offset rotary press was experimentaly investigated. It was found that the ink is dried successfuly by heating with laser beam. Optimum laser irradiating condition in order to dry ink printed on the paper perfectly were derived from many kinds of ink and various papers. Fundamental date were obtained for designing a new high speed and economical dryer.
