Laser interaction with biomaterials frequently takes place under conditions of relative motion between the laser beam and the tissue. In this paper we compute the temperature rise induced in skin tissue by a moving Gaussian CW beam. Temperature profiles are obtained and effects of such parameters as scan velocity are analyzed. We employ these results to estimate the extent of the material removal regions.
