Periodic nanostructures formation on Titanium dioxide (TiO2) film by scanning of femtosecond laser beam spot is reported. Cell attachment could be controlled by periodic nanostructures formation on the film. Then, biocompatibility of the film could be improved. The film was formed on Ti plate by aerosol beam irradiation. Periodic nanostructures, lying perpendicular to the laser electric field polarization vector, were formed on large areas of the film by femtosecond laser irradiation for scanning speed of 1mm/sec at laser fluence of 0.35 J/cm2. The period of periodic nanostructures on the film was about 200 nm. The period of periodic nanostructures on the film was much shorter than the period on Ti plate. By cell test, cells were attached to periodic nanostructures of the film. Then, cells were formed periodically on the film.
