Coherent beam combining of fiber lasers has the capability of scaling to unprecedented power with near-diffractive-limitation beam quality. Aperture technology is the key factor of Coherent-Beam-Combining (BCB). This paper summarizes and analyzes the present level and the significant progress of aperture technology for coherent beam combining, including its principle and characters. Accordingly, we classify the aperture technologies and highlight their predominance respectively. Moreover, some development trends are explored.
