This study concerns with the welding of polypropylene by diode laser using the overlap joint configuration. The influence of process parameters, both the laser power (20W-40W) and the welding speed (3mm/s-6mm/s) on the defectiveness and the microstructure of the weld zone was investigated.
The goal is to evaluate the effects of selected welding parameters on the seam geometry, defects and material cristallinity. The out coming results will help with the choice of the welding parameters that can satisfy the demands of the users related to deeper knowledge that lead to sound weld of polypropylene.
