We have investigated interaction of a nanosecond 266 nm laser with different glasses (zinc borosilicate, alkaline earth boro-aluminosilicate, borosilicate, fused silica). Single pulse ablation behavior of the glasses at near threshold conditions was studied and the ablated area was measured with WYKO white-light interferometry. Based on the results we present single pulse ablation thresholds and correlations between ablation thresholds and material absorptions, material compositions and other properties.
