Advances in process control for laser drilling Available to Purchase

New applications for laser drilling are being enabled through advances in control of the key process parameters that affect the quality and consistency of laser drilled holes. Recent work has focused on developing methods for improving the quality of laser drilled holes in turbine engine components for aircraft engines and power generation turbines. This paper describes advances in laser beam focus control and in real-time sensing of laser materials interactions and their influence on the quality of laser drilled holes.
