This article presents a technique for the analysis of melt bath dynamics in laser heat conduction welding. Complementary high speed cameras, a micro focus x-ray, a high dynamic range camera and a pyrometric system are used to detect influences of alloying elements. This article presents the experimental setup and the speed influence of carbon in the iron melt.
