When using the hybrid welding combined the laser with TIG, they will interact and lead to many merits. In order to get the edge of the arc image to analysis, the wavelet filtering operator is designed. It can acquire the horizontal, vertical, cater-corner information very conveniently according to the different aims. And the edge is smoother and more continuous than that of the edge by the traditional operator such as Prewitt, Roberts, Sobel. By the image processing method, it is found that certain arc current will match certain laser power and there are also limited parameters between the arc current and the laser power besides it. Furthermore, through analyzing the relation between the images of plasma and the section of bead, the parameters that can produce welding bead of wilder width and shallower penetration are acquired. And these parameters can be used in superficial coating in high speed.
