As the use of tailor welded blanks in automotive applications has soared, so has the need for a reliable, automated inspection system. The temate^® 2700 has proven capabilities to provide full volumetric, ultrasonic inspection of laser welded blanks in the production environment at productions speeds. The temate^® 2700 directly inspects final weld quality by using patented EMAT (electro-magnetic acoustic transmission) technology so that typical laser weld defects such as pinholes, porosity, lack of fusion/penetration, and concavity are detected and sorted prior to shipment and stamping.
