Ultrafast molecular sciences by femtosecond photons and electrons
Recent developments in modern femtosecond spectroscopy and four-dimensional electron microscopy using mid-IR, Vis, UV, X-Ray, and electron pulses with durations on the femtosecond and attosecond timescales have enabled many new studies of ultrafast processes in complex systems. This special issue is aimed at capturing experimental and theoretical advances in this active and fast evolving research field. Topics of interest include reaction dynamics in gas, liquid, materials and at interfaces, charge transfer processes, primary processes in biology, and structural dynamics with ultrafast electron diffraction and imaging.
