Non-Invasive and Non-Destructive Methods and Applications Part I — Festschrift
On the occasion of the 70th birthday of Associate Editor Andreas Mandelis in 2022, the Journal of Applied Physics is publishing a Special Festschrift Collection to honor Andreas' multifaceted and multidisciplinary seminal contributions to the fields of photothermics, photoacoustics, diffusion waves, instrumentation and materials science. Professor Mandelis' research career of 45+ years has resulted in many highly cited pioneering theoretical and experimental achievements, non-destructive and non-invasive measurement and imaging methodologies, devices and technologies. The Collection celebrates Andreas' prolific research legacy which spanned and spawned an exceptionally wide range of instrumentation science, applied and materials physics, optoelectronics, spectroscopy, semiconductors, biosensors, biomedical and dental imaging. They have led to over 630 peer reviewed publications, 34 books, edited books and chapters in books, and 40+ patents.
Professor Vitalyi Gusev, University of Le Mans, was honored to be the Guest Editor for this Collection on account of his long-standing professional relationship with Andreas.
