2022 Early Career Investigator Selection
To highlight the astounding work of early career principal investigators, Journal of Applied Physics is proud to introduce the first Early Career Investigator Selection and Best Paper Award for 2022. Papers with the primary principal investigator within 10 years of receiving their PhD were eligible to have their papers considered for inclusion in this annual featured collection. The Selection Committee, consisting of journal Editors and Editorial Advisory Board Members, selected 52 papers from among the 209 eligible papers in all areas of applied physics research.
The 2022 Best Paper was authored by Dr. Mitchell Wood, Sandia National Laboratory, entitled “Elucidating size effects on the yield strength of single-crystal Cu via the Richtmyer–Meshkov instability,” J. Appl. Phys. 131, 114901 (2022).
