Invited Papers from the International Conference on Sustainability, Energy, Water, and Environment Nexus in Desert Climates

The Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) hosted and organized International Conference on Sustainability, Energy, Water, and Environment Nexus in Desert Climates took place from December 2 through 5 in Doha, Qatar. The aim of this conference was to bring together international experts from academia and industry – as well as relevant stakeholders – to share the latest research, technology, and innovation developments addressing challenges and opportunities in the Energy-Water-Environment (EWE) nexus, particularly the requirements for EWE nexus in harsh desert climates. This special topic represents a selection of the papers presented at the conference to identify the challenges and looking for sustainable solutions for solar integration in the region.
