This Special Collection focuses on important challenges, new developments, and current understanding in a wide range of topics in oxide thin films. The collection offers readers the newest, outstanding research in the many fields that Scott Chambers has influenced and participated in. Topics covered include, but are not limited to: synthesis and characterization of epitaxial oxide thin films, heterostructures, superlattices, and surfaces; surfaces, films, and buried interfaces probed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; physical, chemical, and electrochemical properties of oxide films; oxide electronics and integration of oxides with traditional semiconductors; emergent phenomena and novel applications based on oxide thin films and heterostructures.
