International Water Property Standards

Standards for the thermophysical properties of water (and heavy water) are promulgated by the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS). The property formulations available include not only the thermodynamic properties familiar in the form of "steam tables", but also transport properties and properties useful for physical chemists such as the static dielectric constant and self-ionization constant. In most cases, the background articles describing the scientific development of IAPWS formulations are published in JPCRD. This Special Topic collection will be continuously maintained, with new articles added and articles corresponding to obsolete formulations removed, so that it always reflects current IAPWS recommendations.
