Papers from the 2023 Sherwood Fusion Theory Conference
This Special Collection is composed of peer reviewed articles submitted by the 2023 International Sherwood Fusion Theory Conference participants, including invited speakers and the student presentation award winners. The conference was held May 8–10, 2023 with the objective of disseminating leading theoretical and computational research in plasma science and engineering for the development of controlled nuclear fusion as a source of environmentally benign power. The research topics spanned a wide range including plasma equilibrium, stability, and transport; physics of the plasma edge and divertor region, including plasma surface interactions; plasma production, fueling, heating, and current drive; and analytic and computational methods for modeling plasmas.
