Phenomena of Hydrides
Hydrides are an important class of materials in many technological areas including nuclear technology, powder metallurgy, and heterogeneous catalysis to obtain novel magnetic materials. All primary research directions of modern power engineering involve the use of hydrogen. Metal hydride technologies based on the principle of "absorption-desorption" of hydrogen are used for storage, transport, purification of hydrogen, its extraction from gas mixtures, and electrochemical power sources. In addition, high-temperature conventional superconductivity has been demonstrated in hydride materials, including a critical temperature of 287 K in carbonaceous sulfur hydride. This Special Topic aims to collect all emerging and established hydride technologies to further this rapidly expanding field.
