Focus Issue: Complex Network Approaches to Cyber-Physical Systems
The term cyber-physical system (CPS), referring to various critical physical systems that are managed by a particular cyber system, was first introduced in the early 2000s, and has attracted the attention of many research disciplines and application areas since. Complex network science provides a new perspective for the study of large-scale cyber-physical systems; until recently, though, these complex networked systems were mostly treated as separate networks, without incorporating the complex interactions between them.
This Focus Issue aims to capture state-of-the-art theoretical research in modeling and analysis of CPS from a complex network perspective, and aims to motivate the need for experts from various scientific disciplines to conduct more research related to CPS.
