The kinetics of CO oxidation on polycrystalline Pd at UHV are investigated with a mixed modulated beam. Analysis of the data in different temperature regions concludes a Langmuir–Hinshelwood mechanism for oxidation of CO on polycrystalline Pd. The characteristics of both mixed modulated and single modulated beams are compared and discussed. Best fits to the rate constant parameters characterizing the reaction are given. This reaction proceeds with an activation energy ELH =23.0±2 kcal/mol.
