A special compact high‐throughput cryosorption pump with pumping speeds of 30 000 and 14 000 l s−1 for hydrogen and helium, respectively, forms an integral part of a diagnostic beam line for the University of Texas at Austin. The design is based on two‐stage commercially available refrigerators, the cryogenic performance of which is described in detail. The vacuum performance of the pump, i.e., pumping speed, capacity, and regeneration, is also given.
