This paper gives an account of current research on aeolian tones at the Institute of Aerophysics, University of Toronto. Previous work (reported at I.C.A. Congress, June 1956) is being extended by (1) measurements of the surface pressures, and their correlations along the cylinder and (2) measurements of the force amplitudes. A comparison is made of the measured sound intensity with that predicted by the theory.
