Masking at Various Levels of the Auditory System Free

A review of experiments on suppression of the electrical response to one sound by another will be presented. Recordings at the level of the cochlea, first neuron, nerve stem, and colliculus demonstrate that the phenomenon is probably due to several different mechanisms which will be discussed in succession.
