Sound Attenuation in Liquid‐Solid Mixtures Available to Purchase

The sound attenuation in liquid‐solid mixtures in the audio‐frequency region seems to be caused by the viscous drag loss, due to the difference in velocity between solid and liquid. Attenuation caused by dilute concentrations of particulate matter in the oceans agrees with published experimental results at audio frequencies. General agreement is conceived with published experiments on marine sediments.
