A set of five equations of motion for deep spherical shells, which include the effects of transverse shear deformations and rotatory inertia, is given. Certain unsatisfactory features of the existing system of equations of motion for deep spherical shells, which claim to include the effects of transverse shear deformations and rotatory inertia, are pointed out.
